The NBPA's Legal team has played an instrumental role in protecting and advancing the rights of NBA players through landmark legal achievements and collective bargaining. Their work includes:
- Negotiating and enforcing the Collective Bargaining Agreement on behalf of players, which governs everything from player salaries to conduct;
- Administering the player benefits programs and assisting players with on- and off-court issues;
- Certifying and regulating player agents to protect player interests;
- Supporting and counseling players and their agents in contract negotiations with teams; and
- Representing players in disputes with teams and the NBA, and helping resolve disputes with agents.
